Congratulations to David Parker - JSD Counselor of the Year
Please join us in congratulating our own David Parker as Jordan School District’s Counselor of the Year. Mr. Parker is described as the essential force driving his counseling department’s success. Colleagues say Mr. Parker ensures the program remains robust, data-driven, and current.
Another reason David Parker was selected for this honor is because of his work connecting with students. In fact, for the last five years, he has met every student individually to celebrate their birthdays, fostering those vital connections. We’re told he is dedicated to his students, ensuring they feel valued and heard and spends hours supporting students and parents in crisis, conducting thorough PCCRs, and working late to manage schedule changes efficiently.
Mr. Parker has been a counselor at Mountain Creek Middle School since 2019 and in that time has profoundly impacted the school’s culture and success.

We Need Your Help on March 6th for Reality Town
- MCMS Reality Town Volunteers Needed!
- Thursday March 6th, 2025 : 8am-11am.
We need at least 60 parent/guardian volunteers to assist our students at different booths during Reality Town (including the bank, utilities, insurance, day care, etc.)! If you volunteer your student will get an additional $100 added to their budget, however you do NOT need to have a 9th grade student to volunteer. If you can help us, please complete this Volunteer Form.
Reality Town is a 9th grade program that teaches our students that grades/decisions count in "real life". Your student will apply for a job based on their GPA. They will receive a month's "salary" and have the opportunity to pay the bills and try to balance the lifestyle they want to have. It is a lot of fun, and a great learning experience.
