Mountain Creek Middle School School Community Council

The School Community Council (SCC) is an important part of the Mountain Creek Middle School community. The SCC brings parents, teachers, and school administration together to help make decisions that support student success and strengthen our school.

In accordance with Utah state law, the SCC is responsible for developing and implementing the school’s School Improvement Plan, also known as the School LAND Trust Plan. Through this process, council members work together to identify areas of need, establish goals, and determine how School LAND Trust funds can best support student learning and school improvement.

Who Serves on the SCC?

The Mountain Creek Middle School SCC is made up of elected parent and teacher representatives, along with the school principal. Parents and educators bring valuable perspectives to the council and work together to make decisions that benefit all Mountain Creek students.

SCC Meetings

The SCC meets four times each school year. Meeting dates and times will be announced in advance through school communications and on the school website.

All SCC meetings are open to the public. Parents and members of the Mountain Creek community are encouraged to attend, learn more about the work of the council, and participate in the school improvement process.

What Does the SCC Do?

The primary responsibilities of the School Community Council include:

• Developing and implementing the School Improvement Plan
• Determining how School LAND Trust funds are used to support school improvement and student achievement
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the School Improvement Plan and funded initiatives
• Working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and school leaders to identify and address school needs

The nomination and election process takes place each fall. Information about becoming a candidate, voting, and upcoming SCC meetings will be shared through school announcements and on the Mountain Creek Middle School website as the new school year begins.
