Bullying at Mountain Creek Middle School
Every student at Mountain Creek Middle School deserves to feel safe and respected. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. It is often repeated over time and can take many forms—physical, verbal, emotional, or online (cyberbullying).
Examples of bullying include:
- Offensive jokes
- Derogatory statements about someone’s ethnicity, race, gender, beliefs, etc.
- Inappropriate touching or lewd gestures
- Threatening language or behavior
- Sexual comments
- Unwelcome taunting or teasing
What to Do if You’re Bullied:
- Tell the individual to stop, if you feel safe doing so.
- If the behavior continues, talk to your counselor or assistant principal.
- You can also use the Safe UT app to report bullying confidentially.
Remaining silent allows bullying to continue. Speaking up is the first step to getting help.
Consequences for Bullying:
- In-school suspension
- Out-of-school suspension
- Involvement of police if necessary
